Comments: Caught your show at the Ridgefeild Playhouse tonight. Wow! With a proper stage setting (the respect you deserve always) a good sound system and proper monitoring, the three of you played like three possessed demons during the first set. This is the fifth year in a row I have returned to see you (didn't miss the lawn at all tonight in case you are wondering). I am never disappointed. Hoping to to see you guys on Austin City Limits sometime soon !!? Pops said there are only two types of music, good and bad. When I was a kid in the 80's I saw the Basie Band with Freddie Green. I was not interested in that music at the time. However, in one instant, I GOT it and immediately understood the significance of that era. The same thing happens when I hear HCC. The three of you channel Bob Wills, Stephan Grapelli, Django, et all, but still somehow manage to retain you own identity. A fabulous musical enigma in this day and age. Keep burnin' with such ease and grace!
Comments: WOW -- had the pleasure to see you perform last evening at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH. I was previously unaware of you. Where have you been all my life?!? I absolutely loved it. Your music is both old-timey and fresh. Love the Django-esque sound that Whit brings. Elana's fiddle is dazzling, and the stand-up bass is played with that heavy percussive quality that I really admire. To top it off, your dog was a joy to watch as he wandered the stage. Got a video of him/her seemingly bowing at the end of 'Orange Blossom', which was played so well. Thank you, hope to see you in New England again very soon.
Comments: I was at the Fairfield Theater Company last night (Aug. 8) and was simply, utterly dazzled by HOT CLUB OF COWTOWN. I knew nothing about the band or brand of music until 7:45pm, and now am a smiling fan of your harmonies and showmanship. Jake's style on the bass and participant enthusiasm held my attention like an approaching train. Best of luck and continued success to each of you!
