I was talking with Jake about Annette Hanshaw, a 1920's singer I recently discovered, and where I heard about her, an animated film called Sita Sings the Blues. The sound track is almost all her songs. She played with the best musicians, like Eddie Lang and Joe Venuti, and she sounds totally timeless to me. Very hip, somehow. I think it’s something you would enjoy. Thanks for the great show. My son and I loved it.
