Comments: Hey guys! Long time, no see, but still and always a huge fan. Noticed on the Wiki page there is no mention of your first self-release 'Western Clambake'. I still have the tape I bought, maybe in front of Java Joe's, but would love a digi version. Any plan on doing that? I can just copy to disc, but it was such a great collection of your early stuff I think it should be out there. Btw, how many of those tapes did you guys make? Probably gonna be worth a chunk of money someday.. ;-) Okay, I just wrote all this and there it is to the right...shoot. Apparently we agree...
Comments: I can`t tell you how much enjoy your artistry. Each of you freely display technical ability of the highest caliber. That slap-bass double time thing you do always gives me the chills. WHAT TECHNIQUE! Those guitar phrases you do are nothing short of spectacular. Elana, I heard you play about two bars and I remarked to a friend: That pretty lady is no fiddle player. When you play like that, the term is VIOLINIST! I also enjoy the gentleman who sat in with you in the Texas restaurant. He knows his way around the guitar a tad, also. I`m a one time capable, but retired tenor banjoist whose arthritic fingers no longer allow me to play Monti`s Czardas or Kitten On The Keys. I do enjoy playing along with you guys in my mind however. Comments: Wow! Just got my western Clambake CD today! LOVE IT! Happy 20 Anniversary too. Besides the songs I love the audio quality. sounds like right out of the late 30's. and that is meant as a sincere compliment. All three of you are just amazing talent on it and looking cool in the album photo and Elana cute as can be even then. just had to say that, and you all just keep getting better. Your range of so many different types of music just shows your incredible talent and chemistry together. I got to see you at 2016 Elko Cowboy Poetry Dance Nite and got to talk to Whit, Jake and Elana for a good while after the show even tho it was after midnight. You were all so very nice and friendly and thanks Elana for your autograph on my white bandana. I have all your albums except maybe one early one. Also have Black Beauty and Elana James albums. You guys and Eva too take care, be safe on the road and keep those fiddle, guitar and bass strings on fire. will see you again somewhere down the trail.

I would like to proselytize Eddie's Supper Club in Great Falls.It's like walking into 1953.The food is like 1967.The reason to go on friday night is the twin piano bar.Much of the clientele is 75 to 95.They have lost lost so many people they loved but on weekend nights (especially friday) they come out to have fun.It's really a sweet and beautiful scene.Around 10:45 they sing Lights Out(I like the Greta Keller version from 1936) with whoever's still there.I always wish I was in Montana. Wow! We traveled from Cleveland to the show in Pittsburgh! My teenage sons and teenage nieces loved it as much as me and the old timers in the family.
If you are looking for another ballad to work up, please consider The Colorado Trail. We mentioned it to you after the Pittsburgh show and you said to send you a message so here it is.
Our grandfather was a lover of beauty and goodness in music and life. (He also became a bit melancholy after a bit of drink.) On Christmas Eve, with his family all together, after the traditional Hungarian Slovak meal, after the carols and hymns, after a glass or more of wine, Grandpa Jake would end the evening singing The Colorado Trail with his sons (my dad and uncles). As a young girl, I was always so moved by it; "Nora was a pretty girl, God Almighty knows.." Over the years, it has become a Christmas tradition, a link to our Grandpa who died in 1977 and now to our Dad who passed 2011. Hearing you perform Colorado Trail would break our hearts and set them soaring.
If you ever make it back to Cleveland, we will fill the front couple of rows. God bless you all and congratulations on 20 years!
